JME were thrilled to be part of this year’s NYCxDESIGN week by managing the launch of the Gerald Project Exhibition. Created by British design house, Lazerian, Gerald is a dog like you’ve never seen before! More than 100 of the world’s most influential artists, illustrators and designers have taken Gerald, the paper dog, and made it their own as part of the two-year Gerald Project. The culmination of the project took place last week in trendy TriBeCa.
119 Geralds made the journey across the pond from Britain (they are made from paper supplied by James Cropper, the 170 year old British paper mill) and were joined by some of their artists, fashion designers, retailers, jewelers, creative advertisers and the media for the celebration.
The launch took place in one of our new favorite event spaces, 60 Reade, and the Geralds were very much at home among the steel columns, exposed brick walls, crystal chandeliers, Brazilian wood floors and multiple bars! With specially made cocktails and passed hors d’ouvers courtesy of Peter and Josh at KG Fare the Geralds had a real New York experience – as did the guests who left feeling truly inspired by such an ambitious and inspiring exhibition.
